For our tablescape (is that a thing?) this year, Mom and I wanted to come up with a centerpiece decoration that would be fun, but simple, and most importantly, small enough to not get in the way of food or conversation. Enter another use for my remaining mason jars! For a really quick DIY, I absolutely love these, and did just three in pint sized jars.
Mason Jar Snow Candle
You will need:
- Mason jars, any size, as many as you need
- Fake glitter snow
- Gold pine cone ornaments. Any small ornament will do
- Ribbon, half inch wide
- Twine, or string in coordinating color to your theme
- Small candle or tea light
Instructions:
1. Fill the bottom quarter of your jar with the fake snow, and nestle your candle in the center.
2. Take your string or twine and thread two of your pinecone ornaments on to one side, then place a knot to hold them together. Tie the string around the top of the jar and knot it so that the two loose ends stick out just to each side of the ornaments.
3. Over the top or right below the twine, tie your ribbon, knot it in the center, and finish with a bow if desired. (Optional: you can use a dot of hot glue to hold the ribbon and string up if they slip down the mason jar.)
