I’m a huge music fan. Its something that can ground me when my mind gets dark and twisty, and it helps me mentally gird myself against the pain when things get rough. I’m also kinda cheap when it comes to already owning things that work, so it may come as a surprise that I have never owned a really good pair of headphones. It honestly wasn’t even a purchase I had considered before.
Just this week, I decided to up my music game with a new pair of headphones, and was originally going to stick to the $50-$60 range. I hit up a few different places that had headphone demos, and after debating over a pair of JBL headphones, I ended up going home with a pair of Skull Candy Hesh 3 headphones. Best. Purchase. Ever.
I am a frequent sufferer of buyers remorse. My bank account is plagued with impulse purchases, and I often regret purchases and return them almost immediately. I do research larger purchases so I did feel pretty confident going into my headphones search. The Hesh 3 was actually $130 in the end, so I more than doubled my original budget, but from the moment I put them on, I had absolutely not one shred of regret. The Hesh 2 was actually also really good sound and come in at $60ish, however, they have circular ear-pads (what do you actually call them?) and they started to bother my ears just during the brief time I was listening in the stores. The Hesh 3 comes with an upgrade in battery life, driver power, and extra comfort with the oval shaped ear-pads.
Here are some of the songs that have been on frequent rotation during my first 48 hours with my new Skull Candy headphones.
