I am, at heart, a collector of information. I often joke that I am a vault of useless information, which I get from my dad. He would make a killing on “Who Wants to be a Millionaire?” and he once even stayed on the line for the qualifications for 4 hours just to see if he could make it through (they didn’t get to his call, turns out a lot of people want to be a millionaire… figures).
It is even one of my top strengths according to the Strengths Finder 2.0. Input, my second strongest strength, is defined as, “you find the world to be exciting precisely because of its infinite variety and complexity…. So you keep inquiring and compiling and filing stuff away. It’s interesting. It keeps your mind fresh. And perhaps one day some of it will prove valuable.”
So while I have gotten really good at not necessarily collecting as many material things, I do hoard information, links, and sites of things I have found online that I love. Finding a new blog, or a collection of new artwork, or anything new really, always invigorates and inspires me. And finally, I have a place to share this collected knowledge!
